Vintage Signed Alpine Lake Landscape Oil on Canvas

A vintage oil painting depicting a peaceful Alpine lake scene with traditional cottages, distant mountains, lush trees, and a solitary figure walking along the water’s edge. Painted on stretched canvas and signed by an unknown artist along the lower edge.

The painting remains unframed on its original wooden stretcher and measures approximately 16" x 13".

Please note that the canvas has four small puncture holes, each measuring less than 1/2". These appear to have occurred during previous storage, likely from picture hooks on another artwork. There is also general surface and edge wear consistent with age. The holes have not been repaired and the painting is being offered in its found condition.

A lovely original piece of vintage European art with plenty of character despite its imperfections. A coordinating painting by the same artist is also available separately.

Sourced in England. Circa 1940s.
