Vintage 1961 Ladybird “Great Inventions" Book

A wonderful early Ladybird book, Great Inventions, written by Richard Bowood and illustrated by Robert Ayton. This title chronicles inventions of the modern era, such as printing press, telescope, steam engine, and atomic engery. 

Originally published in England in 1961 as part of Ladybird’s Series 601, this hardcover features richly colored illustrations and the classic compact format that made Ladybird books so recognizable. 

This copy does not retain a dust jacket and shows age-related wear to the cover and spine, including rubbed edges and corners. There is also a pen-written inscription on the title page and a few areas of loose interior binding, although all pages are intact. 

Each spread contains a full color illustration, approximately 50 pages total.
