Antique French engraved plate titled “La Madrague ou Pêche du Thon” (tuna fishing), produced in the late 19th century. Likely published as part of a French encyclopedia or natural history volume, consistent with educational plates of the period that documented trades and industry.

The image is printed using line engraving with added color (chromolithographic finish). Subject matter shows a coordinated tuna fishing method using nets across multiple boats. Paper exhibits even age toning throughout, along with light undulation typical for prints of this era.

Presented with a wide mat and a composite wood frame with a black and gilt finish. Framed under clear acrylic (used in place of glass for a lighter, safer finish).
