Antique French engraved plate titled “La Pêche du Hareng” (herring fishing), produced in the late 19th century. Likely published as part of a French encyclopedia or natural history volume, consistent with educational plates of the period that documented trades and industry.

The image is printed using line engraving with added color (chromolithographic finish). Subject matter depicts herring fishing at sea, battling a large swell. Paper exhibits even age toning throughout, along with light undulation typical for prints of this era.
