This is a Gesangbuch or German hymnal, published in 1883 for the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Kingdom of Saxony (former German kingdom, now part of greater Germany).

This one was published by the Landeskonsistorium, or State Church Council, making it likely a standardized copy that was authorized for church services.

It has a print of the Lord's Supper painting on the cover page, as well as a tissue lining covering the title page.

This specific edition from 1883 is not widely available, especially with a clear imprint from the Evangelical Lutheran State Consistery on the title page.

The cover has a beautiful inlay of a cross draped with flowers, and the clasp is in working order.

Overall, the book is in good condition for its age. There is some wear on the cover edges and a crack in the bottom corner, inside back cover. Pages have some yellowing but are intact. Sourced in London, England.
