A compelling pair of antique English engravings, each capturing scenes of everyday rural life with remarkable detail and character. One titled “Donkey” and signed in plate “Jos. Fussell,” the other depicting a Bird Fancier, these pieces were likely part of the same early 19th-century series and engraved by a working artist whose hand is evident in the consistent linework and composition across both prints.

Originally printed as book plates, these engravings have been thoughtfully reframed with wide mats and simple black frames, giving them a clean, gallery-style presence. The paper shows gentle toning consistent with time. 

The frames are repurposed, modern-found frames, and so have been lightly touched up. Glass is included along with dustcover backing and ready-to-hang picture wire.

Book plates sourced in England, frames and matte are US repurposed.
